Mayhem returns to Nottingham

Nottingham's creative quarters turn to the strange and scary as the Mayhem Horror Film Festival returns, with a myriad of extreme cinematic horror exultations.

This will sure add a sense of creepiness to compliment your week at the Broadway.  From the BAFTA winning pictures to the best of disturbing Asian cinema, played at Midnight just to add that extra atmosphere, the Broadway cinema has an impressive selection for your perousal from the 27th-31st October.  Same as usual: best costumes win prizes, talks with directors and outbursts of laughter and applause and the most implausible of deaths.  Films include:

An exclusive BAFTA screening of THE AWAKENING: Starring Rebecca Hall and Dominic West with special guests director and writer Nick Murphy and writer Stephen Volk.

THE WICKER TREE: An original sequel from the creator of cult classic 'The Wicker Man,' Robin Hardy, who will be attending for an exclusive Q&A.

THE THEATRE BIZARRE: Breathing new life into the horror anthology from a team of cult film makers including special guest Richard Stanley (the man behind Hardware and visionary horror film Dust Devil).

SAINT: Halloween meets Santa Claus as Jolly Old Saint Nick brings death and destruction to the children of Amsterdam, centuries ago, in an impressively gory picture.
