Geohot lost; but goes about it in the wrong way.

George Hotz has been in court recently for successfully hacking the PS3.  After a couple weeks, and thousands of dollars (gained from donations from Geohot's community followers), a settlement was agreed where George wasn't allowed to crack another Sony product, and would face a minimum of a $10,000 fine if he did so.  There's a multitude of perspectives: varying from Sony's fair defense of their products, to the safety of users after demands for the IP addresses of users who viewed Geohot's youtube videos.

The pre-named hacker has announced a boycott of Sony products...I'm going to go play on my PS3, good luck with that Geo.
