GTA: Vice City Heading To iOS And Android

For many, it was the definitive Grand Theft Auto, a sprawling open-world action-adventure title that broke new ground and along with it, rival open-world game developers' hearts. A staple fixture within PS2's for quite some time, GTA: Vice City is now all set for smartphones, with iOS and Android versions on their way.

Celebrating the 10th Anniversary Edition of the game (how time flies, right!?), the mobile release is said to boast “several enhancements unique to the iOS and Android platforms”, including a “series of commemorative assets, including never-before-seen artwork and a brand new anniversary trailer highlighting some of the most iconic scenes and music from the game,” according to Rockstar. “In addition, a limited run of collectable promotional items will be made available for purchase through the Rockstar Warehouse, with select items also available via online giveaways.”

Following a long-line of successful GTA-for-mobile releases (GTA: Chinatown Wars, GTA III), it's quite remarkable how a game that at the time of its release which was so influential, technically superb and mechanically sound can now run well on the kind of tech we carry around in our pockets on a daily basis. Ten years down the line, who knows? Perhaps we'll be awaiting the release of GTA V on our iPhone 15's...
