YouTube is celebrating the 57th anniversary of commercial videotapes with an option to watch certain videos on the site in "tape mode," bringing back all the loving memories of static and fuzz to your online experience.
Commemorating the Ampex VRX-1000, considered by most as the world's first practical videotape recorder, it presented a revolution in the entertainment industry, defeating all competitors at the 1956 National Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters Convention.
