Japanese Students Create 'Girlfriend Coat' To Hug Lonely People

Feeling lonely? Japanese students at the University of Tsukuba have invented a coat that can simulate being hugged from behind by their girlfriend, complete with imaginary anime sounding girlfriend whispering sweet nothings into your ear.

Called the Riajyuu Coat (リア充コート), the slany term "riajyuu" means someone who is pleased with their live outside the internet.  It's a mashup of the worlds "riaru" (リアル), which is the word for "real", and "jyuujitsu" (充実), which can either mean "satsifactory" or "complete."

The Riajyuu Coat works using a motor controlled by Arduino, which is connected via USB to a computer, for complete control over the loving embrace. From the video, it's clear to see that it's more tongue-in-cheek than actually serious!  You can't buy this in stores (damn); but you can see it in action below.
