New Apple Intern shows ideas for Notification Centre tweaks

University of Georgia student Jan-Michael Cart has posted a video demonstrating his ideas for tweaking the UI, particularly around Notification Centre in iOS5, adding some rather worthwhile implementations that have managed to get him hired as a UI/UX Design Intern at Apple.

No matter how much of a welcome (if copied) idea the drag-down notification window is, there was always going to be ways we'd want to see it improved.  Most notably for us would be extra widgets for different apps to break up the list-like motif of the tray, and a status bar indicator to show notifications are waiting to be addressed.  Turns out Jan-Michael shared these same thoughts as his video shows: there are some really nice ideas of integration of new controls, widgets, collapsible notifications and persistent indicators in the status bar.  And from how Apple were quick to hire him as an Intern, they must've been pretty impressed too.  We're looking forward to seeing how this turns out.  You can't help but share a smile at how the world of Youtube commenters found out.  Check out the concept video below.
