Microsoft announces Windows 8 preview at Lincoln University

As part of the Microsoft Student Partnership with Lincoln University, students are invited to an exclusive preview of Windows 8 in Jackson Lecture Theatre from 3pm on October 5th.  A guided tour of the OS including both Metro, Legacy and the programming infrastructure will be given along with a full Q&A.  On the face of the functionality, the Windows Phone 7-esque Metro OS looks to simply replace the start menu; but as Microsoft talks of it's aim being to keep you entirely involved in Metro, the choice between these two will be an interesting (if contradictory to the mission) concept to look into.

New Rising Media will be there.
