Google+ last chance to break into social networking

Their last foray into the social networking space felt incomplete and made me lose confidence in Google ever expanding from email, ads, android and search.  But they've pulled out all the stops, from an interface that seems eerily similar to direct competitor Facebook, to a more stylish interface of friend classification (which doesn't contain automation and, therefore, extremely time consuming).  In some ways it works, and in others it's just archaic.  Either way, public release will be soon, and from what's been seen so far, it's stylish and functional enough in the right places to take my time.
