Fishing for attention on Facebook

Why do so many of us feel the need to obnoxiously fish for attention through social means such as Facebook? Every day I seem to see people posting statuses such as “OMG WORST DAY EVRRR” and it just aggravates me. Do you really have no other way of expressing yourself? The pathetic attempt of making it covert just makes it worse. If you’re not going to tell us what  the big catastrophe in your life is then don’t bloody publish it, I don’t like being teased! A sadist like me can’t really get off if I don’t know all the gritty details of your terrible (yet probably a very cushioned and lavished Western) life. Man up and stop complaining on Facebook!
