According to stats published by OK Cupid, active users of Twitter have shorter relationships than those of us with actual social lives.  Of course, no qualitative evidence could be collected: like whether the twitterati are just more annoying, or whether the short nature of our posts contributes to our short nature of commitment; but it's fair enough to answer both questions with a resounding yes.
