Blink 182: Neighbourhoods review

The opener had me worried. It sounds a lot like Tom Delonge’s Angels & Airwaves project. Thankfully, this isn’t an indication of the whole album. ‘Neighborhoods’ doesn’t sound like a disjointed mix of Tom and Mark’s intervening musical endeavours, something fans thought might happen. Those influences are there, these guys have changed as songwriters, but this is definitely a Blink-182 album.

There are nostalgic call-backs along the way; but overall this album sounds fresh and energetic (if, not exactly fun) and heads towards a new direction. A surprisingly cohesive and exciting album. Far from the disappointment that some had anticipated. 7
