Apple planning a Media event this month. Not iPad or Apple TV related, says All Things D

All Things D have always been very close to on-the-ball in relation to Apple predictions, and if the latest from the sources close to the tech blog are to be believed, the Cupertino based company are planning a media-related event in New York for later this month.

Kara Swisher from All Things D has reported that the event is to be happening imminently at the end of January, and says it's more likely the event will surround interactive publishing and adertising (so maybe updates to Newsstand, iBooks, and tweaks to iAd).  What does this mean?  You know those iPad 3 and Apple TV rumours?  You'll have to wait later in the year to hear anything about those.

But this sounds underwhelming, considering Apple are hosting an event entirely by themselves in NYC, just after CES.  Is it as routine as the sources suggest, or have they got something more ambitious prepared?  We're on a mission to find out more, so we'll be back with updates soon.  In the meantime, check out their story in the source link.
