Anchorman 2 Announced

Will Ferrell took to the stage of Conan O'Brien's talk show, in the character of Ron Burgundy to officially announce that a deal had been reached with Paramount to produce a sequel to the comedy legend Anchorman.

After "performing" jazz flute and taking shots at O'Brien's appearance, he dropped the news to a massive round of cheering.  Details are pretty sparse at the moment, except for the confirmed return of Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, and that Ferrell will be working on the script personally with director Adam McKay.

Personally, we'd also love to see David Koechner return (as Champ was amazing), and we hold a slight amount of dread as to the general standard of movie sequels; but on the other hand we can't help but be excited.

UPDATE: Adam McKay has tweeted that he and Ferrell have already begun writing the script, with the intention of shooting in February.
