Hyundai Introduces The World's First Zombie-Proof Car

There are a few essential items you'll likely need to acquire when the zombie apocalypse hits. Cricket bat a la Shaun of the Dead? Perhaps. A lifetime supply of Super Noodles for the inevitable starvation period? Most probably. But when it comes to getting away from the hordes of undead roaming the streets, there's little else out there that can match the brute strength and zombie-bashing capabilities of a zombie-proof car.

Luckily, Hyundai has us covered. Complete with carbon fiber herd plow, titanium wheel pikes, steel-armoured glass and steel-armoured sunroof turret, Hyundai's Elantra Couple Zombie Survival Machine (ECZSM) is what the company claims to be the world's first zombie-proof car. Unfortunately, it's unlikely to pass a road test inspection any time soon (not for as long as we remain zombie-free anyway). Revealed at this year's Comic Con in San Diego, California, the disconcertingly aggressive-looking four wheeler has instead been created by the South Korean company to coincide with the release of the 100th edition of the Walking Dead comic book.

The car even comes with its own ECZSM owner's manual chock-full of useful information on the undead (“Zombies can turn doorknobs, use tools to smash windows but often have trouble with stairs”), the car's options, weapon attachments and communications systems. When can we arrange a test drive?
