It goes to show the ludicrous nature of fighting game plots, as they can quite literally invent any random story and get away with it. But we love it none the less. Smosh games had a crack at re-inventing the story (one that makes a lot more sense) in which a group of fighters search for a necklace by fighting and having tea parties, while indulging in moves that would blatantly kill you (which aren't the fatalities).
