LG’s Incredibly Thin “Wallpaper” OLED TV Announced At CES 2017

LG are looking to defend their position atop the TV mountain at CES - announcing the stunningly slim LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W-series.

Internally named the “wallpaper,” this 77-inch 4K panel is just 2.57mm thick, and attaches onto your wall via magnetic brackets. The screen itself is 4K HDR OLED and has won the 2017 CES Best of Innovation Award.

As competition begins to heat up with Sony’s own 4K OLED TVs being announced today, LG’s new model sports a “picture on wall” design ethic - with the intent of looking like a piece of hung-up art.

The system is split into two parts - the display up top and the brains in the sound bar below including HDMI ports.

The interface is powered by WebOS (shout-out to Palm), presenting a “fun” user interface that remains largely unchanged from their 2016 TVs. LG are also working on content partnerships with the likes of Netflix and BBC to provide a plethora of shows & movies.

No price details have been released, but taking the logic of their previous premium pricing - expect it to be +$10,000.
