Happy Birthday, NHS - Learn Something Episode 35

Learn Something is back! On this week's episode, let's celebrate 70 years of the incredible institution that is the NHS.

On this very day in 1948, the UK Government launched the National Health Service - a system paid for through taxation that provides every Briton with free healthcare, regardless of age, gender, race, social status, you name it!

Every citizen is eligible and when you think about it, this is kind of the common sense way to run things. Your health should not be judged by how much money you pay, nor should who you are as a person affect it. However, more and more, we're seeing the negatives of privatised healthcare.

For all the negativity the NHS faces, it's a system that none of us will ever want to change. Here is my special episode of Learn Something all about it.

Hope you enjoy, and let me know your thoughts! Learn Something is available on all good podcasting services. Please take a second to subscribe and leave a review.
