Is the engine shed losing steam?

Opening with an emphatic entrance into Lincoln’s live music scene in September 2006, The Engine Shed has welcomed a small canvas of great artists, including Gorillaz, Fat Boy Slim and the Foals. Since this triumphant start, a dry spell has now drifted over the self-proclaimed “refuge” for music.

With student numbers almost reaching around 10,000 at the university, the audience is clearly evident. But with gigs mostly few and far inbetween, and with the same amount of acts in one year that you’d find at similar live music venues in one month, allow this simple conclusion to be made.

Go to Nottingham’s Rock City instead.
