Tuesday Trends 23rd August

If there's one thing that Twitter has proven to be excellent for, it's perpetuating rumours. Early Monday rumours about #Gadaffi started to trend. Initially people were saying that he'd been killed, then they said that he'd be captured and finally we eventually learned that his sons had been captured by the Libyan rebels. Even then, it emerged that one of Gadaffi's sons hadn't actually been captured at all. Twitter, unlike mainstream new outlets, doesn't wait to get it's facts straight before 'reporting', which is sometimes a blessing and often a curse.

In other news, #CBB and #XFactor trended, it seems the finalists of those shows has already been decided by the twitter masses.
